 | | I made this for the last of the FTTC anniversary challenges. For this one, Maki's challenge was to use our favourite Flourishes set. For me that was a toss-up between Birds in Vines which has been a long-standing favourite, or the Calendar Sets which are a new favourite. I stuck with the old :D. It actually also fits B & E challenges, to frame it, and to cut out and pop up.
This is SO big for me, it's a sheet of card folded in half.
I stamped Weathered on some white card with Versamark, and then dusted it with chalk pastels for colour. Stamped the Vines in Versafine black, and coloured the leaves with H2Os. Sponged the flowers with Faded Jeans and Broken China and addd white dots. I cut this into bricks, sponged the edges, and popped them all up on foam tape to build my wall, adding an extra little strip along the top to cap the wall.
For the scene behind the wall I stamped Lovely as a Tree with Versafine Green, sponged it with chalk and then sponged the sky. I masked a circle, erased the chalk and sponged it with yellow. I punched a larger mask and sponged again for a halo effect round the sun.
Stamped the bird, cut him out and popped him up on foam, so he sits on the wall.
To set this off I used the Recessed Frame technique from TLC206, using Basic Grey paper, and then mounted this on black card. Plenty of space to add a sentiment at the bottom if I wish.
Sorry for not the best photo - I am finding it hard to get a new bulb for my little studio light. |
