Hi! I made this card for today's color challenge: crushed gray burgundy with writing for dessert! Sounds yucky, but once I got started, I began to see the beauty of this color combo. I must say I am not a fan of bravo burgundy, ever since my SU! demo called it poo-poo burgundy!
I stamped the lady on watercolor paper, then colored her in with an aqua painter and reinkers. Once I was satisfied (I diddled quite a bit with the bow on the hat!), I mounted the panel on basic gray cs. I stamped 2 backgrounds on a piece of crushed curry cs, distressed it, added the lady panel, and then made my flower. Instead of using pre-made dsp, I made my own. I started with a piece of vv cs, added marbling in crushed curry, bravo burgundy and basic gray. Punched out 10 scalloped circles, crushed them #is today a crushing day?! Crushed curry, crushed circles...# folded them flat again and added a firey brad. I smooshed the layers and voila! a flower that mimics those on the lady's hat #well, at least the colors are the same!)
TFL, and have a blessed day!

Hi there friend! This is so fabulous and the first thing I thought of when I saw it.....it reminds me of my gf LeeAnn across the street. This lady looks like her and you sure utilized the colors fabulously on her hat...GREAT job!
