Every month MFT hosts a challenge for the next month's Guest Designer and along with being the Guest Designer you win a set of all the new releases. This month the challenge hostesses Frances Byrne and Cindy Haffner challenged us to "Think Spring". Now that's a challenge I can get behind. I am not a fan of winter so I like the idea of thinking Spring. I went through my favorite MFT stamps, that's the Pure Innocense stamps and pulled out the "My Basket of Eggs" and then pulled out the CTMH "Paper Garden" package. All the papers are from there. I used the Sweet Sunday sketch #54 for my layout.
The image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on a white MFT Perfect Panel, the dress is paper pieced and the rest is colored with copics, the hearts and pink eggs are covered with the Cat's Pajama's glitter and the shoes are coated with SU Crystal Effects to make them look like white patent leather. The mat around the image was cut with the Blossom Nestibilities, there are green hot fix crystals in the points and purple hot fix crystals in the corners of the dp. The paper layers are zig-zag stitched. The yellow cs is punched with a Martha Stewart Floral Lace border punch.
I have a few MFT spring images, all of which I love. I chose this one because it reminds of the sweetness of spring and how much I enjoyed it as a child. When I was little Easter Sunday was spent at my father parent's house. It was an enormous crowd, there were 8 siblings with their spouses and children, the number of children increased over the years. I don't think anyone ever missed one of these events. After we ate the cousins would go out for a walk. Back in those days everyone was dressed to the nines, we'd put on our hats and gloves and walk around the block and there was a formal garden with the most magnificent tulips. We would stand there and gawk at them and just have a good old time.
