Paper beads are very easy to do.
You need:
a wooden skewer, the skinnier the better
paper strips(I like cutting up magazine pages because they are glossy and very colorful!)
craft glue
polyurethane
paper cutter
Look through a magazine and find pages with color schemes that you like. I like blues, purples, oranges, and reds. Take the page and cut long strips, making one end of the strip wider than the other. Roll the strips starting at the wide end tightly around the skewer. Keep the paper rolled evenly for uniformly centered beads. For tear drops you roll favoring one side. You can expirement with your rolling technique to get the look you want. Glue the last part of the paper as you are rolling. I like to coat the finished bead with glue, let it dry, then coat with the polyurethane. You can even add glitter before it dries. The secret to success is to keep that paper rolled tight.
