Thanks for the sneak peak at this sketch Priscilla. Whew, this one really threw me for a loop insofar as the intricacies. Then, I saw you gave an optional less intricate version. So, I'm in between both of them hopefully.
I decided to use the Midnight Madness sketch for a Valentine's Day card. The MM sketch challenge can be found here:
There's always great sketches, designer cards and prizes, so you might think about trying this out. I know I've enjoyed the challenge.
I used SU Sending Love DSP which is really beautiful and has lots of sparkle. Don't know if you can see the sparkle on the dsp from the photo or not, but it's very subtle and beautiful.
I used my SU scalloped heart of hearts embosslit for the center heart using the same dsp. The embosslit is wonderful because it's a die cut and embosser all in one, so it's a one-step process. I glamoured up the heart with some small red heart rhinestones and tiny gold pearls.
I popped the center heart up on dimensionals on real red card stock which I ran through the hearts embossing folder, then I used the SU pinking hearts border for the bottom of that mat and the very vanilla mat behind it. I then used a scallop rectangular nestie to the back of the vanilla card stock to complete the framing.
I tried desperately to use the sentiment at an angle over the ribbon, but it just wasn't working, so I opted to place it below the heart and, instead, hung a little gold heart charm from the red velvet flower ribbon at the bottom which I also adorned with some small gold pearls.
I used the vintage die cuts for the corner pieces and glammed them up a bith with some more small gold pearls and placed a large red heart rhinestone in the middle of that mat.
I popped up the first mat, the framed mat and the heart and sentiment on dimensionals. I also trimmed out the bottom of the first panel with the SU pinking hearts border punch.
That's about it. Hope you like it. Thanks for visiting and if you have a chance, let me know what you think!
