| I created this card for 2 challenges: Clear Dollar Stamps sketch challenge and Creative Inspiration's Challenge of Distressing.
I wanted to use this image so I started thinking about ways to incorporate it into the sketch. What better way to feature a boat than to put in in the water?!? I created the waves and the water by tearing/distressing some white core paper. This paper happened to be double sided in different shades of blue and I used both sides. I created the sunset using 8 different colors of chalk. I also chalked the wood pieces of the ship. The ship was stamped and embossed twice and then I chalked and cut out one of them and attached it with pop dots over the other one. The dimensionality of the card didn't show up very well in the photo. To create the vertical strip, I stamped the flying birds stamp twice and went over it with clear embossing powder.
This was my first time paper piecing water AND chalking a sunset. Overall, this is a very different type of card for me. |
