Well, here is MY story.....This apple is the MAGIC apple. Everyone is wondering how Ms. Annie Mae Appleseed can pick apples so much faster than anyone else even though she is but a teenie weenie slip of a girl. Well, the family (the Appleseeds of Johnny Appleseed fame) have long passed on a family secret. On one particular branch of one particular tree, they must watch for the first apple to grow each season. Once identified, if you touch that apple before picking other apples, then for the rest of the season the other apples basically pick themselves whenever that family member is around. So, that is the answer to the mystery on how Annie can pick apples so much faster than anyone else. It is magic in another way, too. At the end of the season, after all the apples have been picked and the other pickers have returned to their homes in Haiti (lots of apple pickers come north from Haiti to work on the apple farms), the Magic Apple becomes Annie's home until the next season. The core gives her a place to sleep and the 'meat' of the apple sustains her through the winter. And.......even though it is still on the tree, no one else can see it once picking season is over. So....that is the story of Annie Mae Appleseed, prime picker of apples.

SnoSnot is here, everyone! Woo-hoo! And she's got her learnin' hat on fer us.
Thanks, SnoSnot, for that lesson on apple pickin'. I think ya fergot one li'l fact about how the apple pickers first drink apple martinis afer they begin pickin'. Great metaphor (yes, Bertie knows what a metaphor is, thank you very much) in thar, too, about the core and the meat.
Yer colorin' is exemplary, SnoSnot, and I'm mighty proud to be yer gallery neighbor today. So much beauty 'side me in yer card.

This is not my comment:
Rut roh! Annie Mae is a vegetarian and doesn't eat meat!
Rut roh! A goofball teapotter picked the magic apple and sent it down a hill to see if it would turnover! Bertie taught me that!
Rut roh! Annie Mae heard a couple of teapotters quarreling and one of them said, You're Rotten to the Core and now Annie Mae has an issue with her core!
Rut roh! Old Grandma Appleseed got sick and tired of hangin' on to the *family* secret and blabbed all over the face book, u-tube, and my space and the magic is now not so magic!
Other than that.....your story is good! I totally believe it! Snort!
That Bertie, she's all excited cuz she went to a class on how to rate the best apple pickers on the farm and meet the picker of her dreams. You know, one that can pick the best apples based on color, texture, aroma and shape. Too bad she Met-A-Four!!! Gertie will give her some tips once she Dumps-Her-Four!!

I like everything about your card and everything about your story. The bright green and red dots highlight your main image so nicely. Oh yes, and there is that perfect piercing.

Hmmm....magic. Yeah, I'll bet! If she had all that magic at her disposal, wouldn't she do something better, like send us all to CHA??? Apples are wonderful, and so is cider and pie, but CHA? Well, that's something else!! I love your layout and coloring, and you are still the piercing champ!

I would love to sink my theeth in this luscious apple. WOW, you sure did some fine colouring Joanne. Are you still sitting in the field or are you waiting for the magic to occur now that it's getting late...
Beautiful sketch I have to add. TFS and please forgive my nuttiness, I was born that way. LOL
