This year the only thing that my wonderful boyfriend would put on his xmas list was that he wanted us to make the world a better place (by donating effort, time, resources, etc) and then tell him about what we did. As a Christmas gift to him, I am making cards to donate to HospiceCare (a Madison & Janesville WI based hospice organization) and writing him a letter (yes, probably in a card!) about my experience. He is a big advocate of hospice, and I wanted to honor his appreciation of hospice work. Their volunteer coordinator is delighted to be receiving hand made cards. She said they use many sympathy, thank you, and thinking of you cards.
Now, I just hope he's NOT a member on Split Coast -- that would ruin the surprise!
This card set was inspired by pbft's beautiful creations: here, here, and here.
Thanks for looking!

What an amazing gift!! Hospice was wonderful to us when my Mother in law was at the end of her life. You have inspired me to contact the local hospice and see if they would be able to use some homemade cards.
Merry Christmas and Thank you so much for sharing.

He's a keeper and so are the cards - very nice idea. My daughter makes cards for the UVA welcome house for the heart patients. She leaves them in a basket for the families to give their family. It's not easy to leave the hospital so she leaves cards everytime they visit. My SIL got a new heart one year ago.

Wow. Hold onto that guy; he's a keeper. What a nice sentiment, and it looks as though you really dove into the project. It makes me want to look up a similar group and put some of my efforts to good use. Thanks for the inspiration.
