This card was made for Today's Tuesday Teapot Challenge. We were supposed to make a card showing out best or worst Christmas gift. Well, mine is both and mine is sadly real. Sunday our water main to our house broke. We have been without running water for a day and a half. So getting this repaired is definately a "best" gift, but the cost....Yikes!!! This is the worst and to have this happen at the holidays just ties it with a bow. This will be my DH and my Christmas gifts for a number of years to come. We had to replace 150 feet of water paper and have a deep trench dug in the front lawn to do it. So Merry Christmas to us!
I used today's color challenge colors are well for this card. My glitz comes from the "copper pipe" (really a drinking straw that I colored with a copper marker) and the black glitter on the borders and a black glittered snowflake. Yep, there's definately celebration and mourning going on here!
This will probably be my card to my DH this year!

Oh Kathy, so sorry to hear about your home troubles. We have a black cloud that follows us around too. It's been an interesting year! But, I love your card and that you still find some humor in your situation. Very nicely done!

Your card shows you still have your sense of humor even though you have a sad holiday story. Some tea will help perk you up especially if Charlene adds a little something to your drink. Your house looks so warm and inviting and I bet the water flows freely.

Kathy! What a sad story. Bad time of year for these troubles, but thankfully, a problem that you can throw money at and be done. I love your sense of humor, and your very 'original' pipe! Thanks for sharing your home sweet home.

Ouch!! I'm sorry to read about your water main breaking and the costly repairs. No time is a good time, but especially around the holidays that hurts. You wanna come have a snowball fight with Bertie and work off that frustration?
Before I read your story, I thought what you described as a copper pipe was a cinnamon stick! I light the gingham ribbon tied around it. It really is a lovely card, Kathy.

Well, that's such a shame about your water pipes! This is one holiday season you'll remember, and it won't seem so bad as time goes on, but it's rough right now, I know. At least you have a house to fix! Some people don't have that blessing. I love your card and how you combined the two challenges! Thanks for coming to the Tea Party!!
