This beautiful paper technique is taught by Vesta Abel (http://www.artseeds.com/). Here's what she taught:
1. On ordinary typing paper, use dense color dye ink pads, to "paint" the paper with broad swipes and splotches of color... covering completely.
2. Crush the paper into a ball, compressing tightly.
3. Carefully unfold the paper and lay the paper out relatively flat.
4. Take a dark pad (black, purple, navy, or any other dark color), and brush it across the "mountains" left from unfolding the wadded paper.
5. Use a block of heat impression foam that you've added texture to by pressing on a pile of straw or other irregular surface, and dip onto a plate with puddle of gold re-inker ink or acrylic paint. Lightly press the ink foam block at random on the paper... less is more. The gold is a highlight, so don't overdo it.
This card was made for my sister-in-law as she recovers from breast cancer surgery. I think it's a rather elegant technique, hence the name.
