Roxie, what a fun sketch. Thanks Roxie and Dawn.
I used today's sketch to make my card for Kelly's Word of the Week challenge. You can find her challenge on her blog here: Word of the Week
I must say that the words that she has chosen so far have been fun and challenging. Way to go Kelly. This week's word was:
furfuraceous: consisting of or covered with flaky particles.
Well my first thoughts went to a tutorial I read last week on making your own flower soft by rubbing two styrofoam balls together. That would have been really cool if I had had those, but I didn't. I ended up taking a styrofoam insert for a box that was sitting in my office. I took a pair of scissors and scraped pieces of the stryofoam off into a pile. I mixed it with glitter and salt to make a flakey snow mixture. I applied it to the bottom of my snowman image. So I hope that qualifies for being
furfuraceous - covered with flakey particles.
I also was thinking about the part of the definition that said consisting of flakey particles. I was thinking that if snow comes down in flakes, a man made of that snow would be consisting of flakey particles or furfuraceous.
Kelly do I get bonus points for the gingham ribbon and button? Do I????
I also added little red glass beads to make the holly berries dimensional.
