This card was made for the Viva la Verve week 1 challenge - the {twist} was to go 'shabby'. When I think of this style I think of one of the Verve divas: Laurie Schmidlin. I was inspired by many of her cards with a soft, shabby look that is just pure eye-candy!
I thought these papers from K&Co were perfect for this style and because they all came from the same pack, I could coordinate lots of different patterns. All the layers were matted on burgundy cs and the dsp was distressed with a distressing tool.
The main image was stamped with Memento rich cocoa and coloured with copics. The teacup was stamped separately and cut out to pop over the teapot to create dimension.
The sentiment was stamped on a ribbon slide cut with nesties and sponged with River Rock (main image was also sponged with RR). The ribbon is a HOTP one I've had lying about in my stash for ages.
I have to say, this is one of my favourite cards I've made for a long time!
TFL!
