I am not usually good with anything other than the most straightforward sentiments, feeling that things like this are more suited to scrap-booking. But I knew I could do something with this one .
I'm using one of the Verve sketches.
A2 base, covered with brown Bazzill edged with gold. The top panel is from the DCWV Old World stack, embossed with script ef, sponged with brown and the edges distressed. The image panel is Bountiful Backgrounds, stamped with brown distress ink on cream tissue paper for the faux silk technique. I masked off some of the image and stamped one fleur de lys on some red paper with gold ink and embossed with gold, then punched out. It's popped up on a foam dot, and then coated with Glossy Accents.
The sentiment was stamped and embossed with gold, and the edges sponged with black and brown. I added a red grosgrain ribbon and some WRMK old brass brads.
I could have sworn I had a scrap of old velvet with fleur de lys on it, that I was going to use to cover a button. But when I dug it out, it turned out not to be what I remembered at all.
