My dh was out of town today so I had time to play in my craftroom while he was gone....hee hee!!! I made two cards in less than 24 hours...wow!!!
*****I have edited this card picture because after I posted it, it occurred to me, that I forgot to stamp the peacock's legs. I know!!! Check out this blog post for more details, both pictures, and a close up of the sparkle.
This card is for the Verve VLVOCT2 sketch challenge with a twist. We are NOT to use brown and orange. The idea I had works so beautifully with today's Inspiration Challenge(IC201) picture seen here. I know it is my second in this challenge, but the stuff is just so well...inspirational! Thanks, Amber and Stef!!!
I am using Verve stamps. I am also using bermuda bay, enchanting evening, and ivory cardstocks. I love these hues together, but I did have to vintage them up a bit. I stamped my background paper, I used a sewing machine...not for sewing, though. I pierced the paper then connected with the marker for the faux stitching. I colored my peacock and decided to use a button for his body. I added waterfall stickles which just makes the peacock feathers look so irridescent and awesome IRL.
Also, at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C6), Vicki(summerthyme) has challenged us all to make a thank you or thanksgiving card. Thanks, Vicki!!! Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to you!!!
