I'm not traveling far today, only a couple states over to where I was born and raised, Colorado. I remember after I got married DH and I would drive up to Aspen in the Rocky Mountains, to see the leaves change. What a gorgeous site. Wish I had the cameras I have now. The old Instamatic just didn't cut it. I did finally get a 45mm camera. I took so many wonderful pictures of the turning colors of the leaves. Hopefully my card today, conveys the awesome color I saw.......details.....
On w/c paper I stamped the tree which I know isn't an Aspen, but let's pretend for today, using basic gray. I clear ep'd it. Still pretending, I stamped the leaves in the various fall colors using a new build a tree stamp I got the other day. It isn't aspen leaves, remember we're pretending they are.
Colored the bark with white acrylic paint. Took a wet brush and dabbed it on the leaves to give it that water colored look. Cut the tree out and sponged the edges with brushed corduroy. Set aside.
I was on a roll this week, photoing so many different things in my house to make bg dp with. This one here is my purse, but it was also tweaked a little by adding the leaves. I used a free program called Picnik.com. Check it out. It is pretty cool to use to edit your card photos. I also versa marked and clear ep the leaves.
Layered my dp with brown and gold cs putting it on a white card. Popped up the tree image and added one of my new Hero Arts Metallic Decor dots.
Well, hope you like my pretend Aspen tree here with it's fall colors......TFL :0)
