I struggled with this one. I have never made a crooked card (intentionally), and after I finished it, I realized I got the sketch wrong. Yikes! So I pulled it apart and tried to make it closer to the sketch.
I also made this for the Verve Challenge. I chose the flag of Scotland, which is blue and white. (My dad was born in Scotland.) http://geographic.org/flags/scotland_flags.html

I chuckled at your comment that you've never made a crooked card intentionally... I know I've made plenty unintentiionally! This turned out very nice in spite of your struggles though. Love the pierced border and the flower/ribbon combo...
