This is the card I made for today's TLC, which was embossing foil. Three weeks ago we were on holidays in Greece, on one of the islands where loggerhead turtles nest. It was too late for us to have much chance of seeing any - all we got to see were the nests marked on the beaches...
A2 black base, with a silver line drawn round the embossed foil. For the foil, I trimmed a piece of scrap card to the finished size and covered it with tin foil. I used Denim, Stream, Lettuce and Pearl Mixative alcohol inks to colour it, and then embossed it with Spots and Dots. For the oval I just added some more alcohol blending solution to my applicator and coloured a piece of glossy card. I added some peel-off seaweed stickers, coloured with a green marker.
The turtle is from Pink Cat Studios, stamped with Versafine Black, embossed with clear EP and coloured with H2Os. I used very thin foam tape for the back of the body and near fin, and much thicker foam for the far fin and head, to add dimension.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts, stamped on a Ribbon Tag from Spellbinders and sponged with Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo distress inks. I tied it on with some fibres and attached the whole panel to the base.
Fun technique, thanks, Lynn, for giving me reason to try it out.
