For the WT today we were to step outside the box of our comfort zone. I've worked hard at stepping outside some of my comfort zones, but I was thinking things like monochrome, black and white and...wedding. The last wedding card I offered my sister wasn't what she was thinking of, and I had to make her another. Same the last time I made DH one to give to someone in work. He said it wasn't a real wedding card.
So here is a traditional wedding card, in black and white only. Closed, it also fits today's sketch for the caardvark's sketchfest.
The base was 11 1/2" wide by 5 1/4" high, folded in half. I used a plate to trace around the round edge, and then embossed the front fold. I added Frosted Lace Stickles round the edge, little diamond gems on the end of each swirl, and some black and white Primas with gems in the centres. For the inside, I cut a black mat layer 1/4" smaller on each side, and a white Bazzill layer 1/8" smaller on each side than the black. Both white edges have more Stickles all around. I stamped the bride and groom image so that it would be hidden under the curve, while the sentiment partly shows. The bride has more Frosted Lace on her veil, and White Opal Liquid Pearls on her flowers. The flower swirl in the top corner is more Stickles and Liquid Pearls. I also rarely if ever do cut-away fronts, and rarely put that much bling on a card unless it's for a blingy challenge .
