Page One: First, I stamped a Stipple Butterfly in Rose Red for the background. I inked stamp in Basic Black, then watercolored the flowers with Rose Red and the leaves with Old Olive. I then covered entire image with Crystal Effects. I snipped out the vellum from a metal edge tag and glued this image to the tag instead. I attached it to Vellum paper and set it with two eyelets. "Happy Birthday" was printed off the computer.
Page Two: I used my Clouzzle to cut an oval in the overlapping cardstock, then I inked the Toile Blossoms stamp in More Mustard and stamped it repeatedly. I stamped it once more in Basic Black and then watercolored the image. I threaded ribbon through the frame and glued everything in place, adding a tag and tying a ribbon to finish it all off.
Page Three: I stamped the All Natural pear and leaf repeatedly in VersaMark ink, then embossed with clear powder. I then set about cutting out the image with my paper snips. I had traced a 1/4" line in pencil to create the frame around the image so that I would not cut it out. I then used a VersaMark pen to outline each cut away section, then I dipped the area in Gold embossing powder. I colored in the images with watercolor pencils. I attached a small tag with a little Mono.
Page Four: I stamped a piece of white cardstock and then colored in the flowers. I antiqued the edges, embossed the edge of the folded over section the same way I did above, and punched three holes with a 1/16" hole punch. For the tags, I attached a printed out section of vellum paper (with the definition of friendship) to a tag with gold brads. The tag reads:
frend'ship. n. 1. An attachment to a person, proceeding from intimate acquaintance, and a reciprocation of kind offices, or from a favorable opinion of the amiable and respectable qualities of his mind. True friendship is a noble and virtuous attachment, springing from a pure source, a respect for worth or amiable qualities. There is little friendship in the world.
The other tag is stamped with the greeting from "Sweet of You."
Yes, I went crazy. I tried all the new techniques I've been wanting to. I hope my friend likes this. Now I'm ready to try it again when my brother-in-law proposes!
