I have just finished making this for my eldest DS who will be celebrating her 25th Silver Wedding Anniversary early next month.
The card actually started out as an acceptance card for the celebration dinner however as it has evolved I have decided to save this for the anniversary itself.
Both her and my brother-in-law, love birds and as everyone knows Swans mate for life (just like them!) so I thought this stamp was rather appropriate and slightly different to the usual "weddingy" images.
The swan stamp came from the "patterned birds & bugs" clear stamp set by Inkadinkadoo. I stamped the image twice using versamark then heat embossed both images with silver embossing powder. Using one swan as a base, I cut the 2nd one out, shaped it to give it a 3D effect, placed it on top of the first image then embellished with clear and pale pink adhesive tiny stones for some extra bling!
The background paper is by Anna Griffin (one of my DS's fave designers) as is the silver heat embossed backing mat which I made from an AG background clear stamp.
I think my fave part of the card is the tiny crystal heart ribbon & roses bow which I made myself (see close up - next pic) I had a fantastic find recently in a junk shop and found a huge bag of old beads, charms, findings and buttons all for just £1!!! Which is about $1:50! It felt like finding treasure and that is where the crystal heart came from!
The roses were a final reminder of that special day in 1984 when my Sister walked down the aisle carrying an ivory rose bouquet. I hope she will forgive the touch of stickles which I have put on the roses! I am currently addicted to stickles and felt that the touch of pink helped pull the whole card together as matching the blingy gems!
I just hope she likes it!
As ever.....A whopping "Thank you" for stopping by - There are soooooo many wonderful creations here on SCS and I am honoured that you have chosen to take a peek at mine x
