One of my favorite things to do with my hubby is enjoy bagels together Sunday morning while we read the paper together. I created this card to send to him while he is deployed away from home to remind him of our Sunday mornings together.
I cut up some newspaper (which is tricky with the paper cutter) and sponged some Close to Cocoa on it to give it a distresed, eged look. I ran a piece of Kraft cardstock through a crimper and tapped the raised edges against the past to age this piece of carstock as well.
At first, I had the center image stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock, but then the white of the ribbon stood out too much so I restamped it on Whisper White cardstock and sponged Close to Cocoa around the edges. I wanted to color in the cup but was afraid I would ruin the card. I tied a cord of twine around it twice for some added texture.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my card.

Wow! I love all the texture you have on this card...from the crimped kraft paper, the newspaper, the sponging, to the ribbon & twine! Such a fun look for a "monochromatic" card. I bet your DH will be as pleased as punch when he gets to enjoy this cup o' joe!
