I made this card for 2 Challenges: the 1st is the "Stamp Something" blogspot where you are to use your favourite stamp set plus some diecutting or punches on your card: see this link - http://stampchallenges.blogspot.com/...-favorite.html, and the 2nd challenge is for the Clean and Simple Challenge CAS28 for a Masculine card - Forums at Splitcoaststampers. I am trying to make some simpler cards and the CAS Gallery and forum is fantastic for inspiration and ideas - go check it out!
My favourite stamp set is the Penny Black dogs - they look super-cute. I actually made this card in 20 minutes! We have Father's Day in September here in Australia and my mojo had taken a walk during the week and I couldn't think of what card to make for my DH - and had half an hour to make one on Father's Day morning!! Maybe it's not usual to give a rose to a man - but my DH is a "dog" person and this image just seems to fit his personality perfectly - and he smiled at the card so it must have been OK!!
The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo black and coloured with Gamsol, Prismacolor pencils and acrylic paints. I added a tiny bit of glitter to the dog's cheeks and the rose (looks less gaudy IRL) because I can't help myself with glitter. I cut about half an inch off the bottom of the card front and attached a piece of red cs which I had punched with my Fiskars Threading Water punch.
Thanks for having a peek at my card!

Very cute. Love the image and I think it is perfectly fine to give a man a rose, especially like this, on a card, presented by this cute dog. Awesome coloring of the image. The bit of red showing at the bottom is just right! TFS. : )
