You know, I look forward to the Inspiration Challenges that come out on Friday nights. They are my favorite. I know my sister (stamp300) is going to be surprised at what I used as my inspiration piece because it's not the one I told her about. Anyhow, here is my story.
We were to create a card for the Inspiration Challenge from the Monya Bags store. This is the clutch purse I chose...http://moynabags.com/cgi-local/SoftC...3e9+1257152471. I took a glimpse at the purse quickly because my kids were wanting to use both computers, so I printed a copy to work from.
I started out by making the hand made purse by drawing a template. I layed the template out onto the fold on the bottom on sandy colored c/s. Cut out! I made 2 extra pieces of the template so I can have a front and a back also. I take one of the extra pieces and used the cb textile emboss folder sideways. (reversed) (I had to do this twice because of the size). I used the saddle brown stazon ink with a sponge, a white colored pencil, and sand paper to distress the look of the folder. I used 3 different scallop circles for the flowers, made 2 sets. I was looking through all my ink pads and couldn't find any color that I wanted. So I made some scribbles on watercolor paper with a pumpkin yellow prismacolor pencil. Finished the flowers with OMS and a blending stump. I cut into the flowers with the scissors only to the center and trying not to cut all the way without losing part of the flower. I rolled the tip of the flowers just a little bit and secured all 3 sizes with glue dots. I stitched the centers of the flowers with embroidery floss. I drew the lines for the vine with a pencil. The next part took about 10 minutes to do. I hand stitched the vine with embroidery floss with a needle. I thought I had a smaller leaf punch, but I didn't...but I just used the MS leaf punch and went with it. Does it look ok? I scored lightly and pierced the leaves. Adhered the flowers and leaves with glue dots. I added tacky strip to the inside edge and used 2 big brads for the opening of the purse. Adhered shut. There is enough room for an opening that a gift card can fit into. I made an accordian style backing so the card can stand up. Once everything was done, I used MS glue and glitter for the edging around the purse. This took a little bit of time, but I had fun making it. Thanks for looking and thanks for the challenge. Have a great weekend!
What do you think?
I just noticed the shading of the purse that the color of mine is a bit off. But remember, I only had the printer paper to go on.:(...I didn't want to start over!

OMG! Bonnie, you're right I'm surprised. This is awesome. Love the idea of using the brads for the clutch. Love your flowers, leaves, glitter and CB background. Heck, I just love everything.
