This week's TSC was to make a religious Christmas card. My favorite Christmas song is "The Prayer" by Buccillie and Salen Dion. TS Judy Kell had sent a photo email about a week ago with this song. One of those shots is what inspired this card. I stamped the trees with black stazon. Using a post it note, I masked off the bottom third of the white CS and sponged Buckaroo Blue along the horizon line and heavy around the border and light towards the center. I was trying to create a "light from above" that would bring us guidance. I needed something to break the starkness of the snow so I placed two more post it notes in a "V" shape going from one point at the horizon to a wide shape at the bottom of the CS and sponged Going Gray at the very edges of each post it note. Before removing the post it notes, I applied a very light line of Diamond Stickles which doesn't show up in the photo (DRATT) to enhance the path that he leads us on. I wrote the first part of the sentiment with a black felt tip pen and then used a SU sentiment for "Grace". Mounted the image panel onto a Navy Blue base and drew a border by using a Silver paint pen. Still needed to enhance the snowy scene and then it dawned on me.........duhhhhh...........I need snow flakes!!!! So I added them with my White Signo Gel Pen. I started to add ribbon but decided I liked the simplicity of this. I was sitting there admiring my work and then I remembered that the song says, "Guide Us With your grace" rather than "Lead Us......". WHAT EVER!!!!

This is drop dead gorgeous. I think this is one of the best cards I have seen. I have this song on my ipod and when I run I listen to it every day. I just love it. It fills my heart with peace and hope. Your scene is so calm and serene. I really really love this card. So well thought out and just wonderful...Great job.

What a lovely vision I feel like I could just jump in to that scene and follow the path, this is such a beautiful card, all that sponging certainly created the look you were going for a "light from above" Wow is all I can say!
