This portfolio is made by cutting one of those school pocket folders in half, trimming the pocket in an interesting curve, attaching the junior legal pad to the other side and scoring a 1/2" "spine." You get 2 portfolios out of one folder and they only cost about $.10 each. (Note: the pocket will be on opposite sides in the 2 folios you make from each folder. To see the outside of the folio, go to my gallery at www.splitcoaststampers.com/go/cre8tveldy
My idea is that the hostess can make her wish lists on the pad and keep her receipts in the pocket so she has a record of what she's ordered. This is obviously for your repeat hostesses, but you can just label it NOTES or MEMOS and use them for anyone. I can't wait to give this to my top hostess next week!

This is wonderful! What a marvellous idea. My first open house is next week, and I think this would make a great project (especially since school supplies are on sale!). Thank you for sharing.

AWESOME! I got a bunch of these for five cents each last year, didn't know what I was going to do with them, NOW I do! Thanks, that was such a smart idea!

OMG this is great! I made a bunch of portfolio covers one year out of cardstock, not folders, and cut several of them backwards by mistake, so they opened the opposite way. I just called them "Folders for Lefties" and sold ALL of them at a craft show. These are really really cute!

I love how you cut the pocket- I made soem a couple weeks ago and they look a lot better with your creative curve
They are on sale 10 for 70 cents at Target this week and I don't think they have the upc code sticker on them if they are in the shrink wrap
