Nancyruth challenged us to use chalks. Unfortunately, a dear lady who was my BF’s friend, passed away yesterday. So, my card is for the family. I used the cuttlebug to add texture to the background – then, I lightly sponged chalks onto the flowers and leaves. The sentiment was stamped with watermark and then chalks applied, as was the butterfy.
I used a Martha Stewart punch for the bottom border. I also added pearls to the butterflyÂ’s antenna which are made of wire. Ribbon completes the card.
Please come and play along with us – get out those chalks we all “had to have” and have some fun!
Thanks, NR for a fun challenge!

I love all the details on this card, Vicky -- the lacey scalloped border, the pearls on the butterfly's antennae, the cute little knot. This card will definitely be a comfort to your friend's family.

I love all the soft details - especially the pearly antennae. What a lovely sympathy card. (and I think I will dig out my Happy Harmony flowers today!)

Vicky, I'm sorry that you "had" to make this card. You can believe me when I say that this is one of the most beautiful sympathy cards I've seen. I love the softness of the chalks and the impact of these colors WOW!!!
I love it all....great antenna's on the butterfly. I always wonder how to put these on butterfly images that don't have any.

Oh Vicky, this is such a beautiful way to express sympathy. The softness of the colors, the butterfly and pins, the incredible sentiment - gorgeous, simply gorgeous.
