Hello everyone! I made this card for today's Sketch Challenge. Loved the simplicity of it! I used a stamp my DD had given me for Mother's Day and had yet to see ink... not because I didn't want to... just didn't have time! Today's sketch gave me the perfect opportunity, and since Friday is my Anniversary, it's perfect for my DH. We call Maine home, even though we've been down south for 10 years now. This image reminds me of the Nubble Light House in York, ME. which was very close to where we lived, so that's what I'm calling it. There's an Anniversary sentiment inside, and I know he'll appreciate this nostalgic image.
It came together very quickly. Water colored the image on watercolor paper using SU! Markers and a paint brush. Added a touch of T Holtz Pearl Paint to the "front" of the house and light to add some sun reflection. Sponged the edges of the white watercolor paper with TH Distress Ink in Linen. A little twine and an anchor charm that I got from Clear Dollar Stamps, and I was done.
Thanks so much for looking! Have a great evening!

Wow grace, what a terrific image! DD has great taste! Also love the anchor charm and how you tied the twine to look like a chain holding the anchor. I think you have created the perfect notical theme. Although I've never seen a light house in person, I do love them.

What a spectacular scene, right out of Nova Scotia my daddy's home province! It probably isn't but gee, brings back memories of Peggy's Cove and how he had made me believe for so long that it was named for me...I forgave him later on. LOL
Love all your colours and the sketch is so fun for this! TFS Grace.

Such a wonderful anniversary card! I know your husband will love it! I've been to Nubble Light, and this brings back such wonderful memories of the lighthouse and all the other glorious places along the coastline in Maine. Thanks for sharing, and happy anniversary!
