For the IC we were playing from vases this week and I chose this one and created my sky with the double tones and also added a sun although not near as whimsy as the vase sun.
-I tore a piece of paper in half and saved both to be used for this creation.
-Mask off the ground and sun and sponge on the sky. My sun mask is 1 ½” punched sticky note. I use smooth surfaced sponge for the orange and yellow and course sponge for the grey clouds.
-Remove the sun mask and sponge on some color to tone down the white.
-Remove the ground mask and put the other piece of torn sticky note on the panel to cover the sky area. If my sticky note isnÂ’t long enough I cover the remainder of the panel with a scrap paper.
-The ground area can be sponged or brayered on for a faster coverage and I brayered on this card.
-I stamped all the images in place using a stamp positioner.
-A dark grey color was added to the windmill with Prismacolor pencils.
-The larger birds were added to hide a mistake when the entire image didnÂ’t stamp for the smaller birdsÂ…and there is no way IÂ’d line those up again and get it perfect but there is a way to save anything if you think hard enough!
-The under panel of yellow bordered with black was a triangle cut in half corner to corner.
-The envelope also has the Sanded image stamped on the back flap. Just slip a piece of paper under the flap to mask off the remainder area.
My friend Judy gifted me the windmill image and its fun to work with, thanks Judy!
