This is Furleasha (named for our last cat). She is in charge of the shopping for the dinner tea today. I suggested that she might want to go to Costco, as we usually have a big turnout for these parties and at Costco you can get lots for less (as long as you have room for it!!!).
It was during this catversation that I remembered today was the day that Martha Stewart was going to be at our Costco signing her newest book about cupcakes. When I shared that with my co-worker, we asked our boss nicely if we could use some comp time and leave a little early today so that we could get to Costco and stand in line to buy a book and get it signed. (I didn't explain to him that Furleasha and I were also doing tea party shopping because I don't think he would have let me go - he probably would have called to have someone take me away!!!)
Martha was very nice. She signed the books and would speak to you if you talked to her. Just before it was my turn to approach her table, they brought her some snacks. She told me that she had only had a small salad for lunch today and needed sustenance. I told her that she looked lovely today.
Yes, that's all that I could come up with. Should I have said -
Martha, I am here with the ghost of my dead cat Furleasha and we are shopping for food for a dinner tea party today. Do you have any suggestions?
Then she might have suggested a recipe for Blue Tie Fish and we would have been golden!

Now that is one hard story to top! Why didn't you invite Martha to the tea. We probably could have become a chapter in her next book. Gotta love the chef hat on your cat. Like the colors you chose.

Such a cute card! The LO and palette remind me of Dr. Seuss! Love the patchwork kitty and the blue tie fish, too!
I think it's quite alright that you didn't invite Martha--she would never have "gotten" our tea parties, and would probably have ended up telling us what we were doing wrong and how to fix it! ~K

Bwahaaha! Darn it! I went to bed and missed all the excitement! I have GOT to stop sleeping on Tuesday nights! I find myself wondering about your story, is it fiction or non-fiction? My first thought was Martha at Costco? But hey, she's at K-Mart, it could happen! I could see Martha eating a salad for lunch, and I could definately see Martha not talking unless talked too, and I could see you not knowing what to say and just saying, you look lovely. Okay, your story is for real! Hee!
Good thing you didn't invite her to our tea party cuz the CAT-erers are feuding in the kitchen right now. More and more keep showing up and they are jealous of everyone's cook hats! You have heard of the furr is flying? Well, the hats are flying in the kitchen!
Come, on lets take all your newly purchased food to the neighbor's kitchen and we can start fresh over there! WHoo Hoo!
I must say your little Cat-Shopper is so prim and proper in her little patchwork outfit and perfectly trimmed furr! And your blue tie fish? So creative and fun on the border of your card! We can make up our own Blue Tie Recipe! What? It will be good! Hee!

Bwahahaha! Oh, I wish you could have said that to Martha! Couldn't you just see her refined face get all pucked up? No, she would have been gracious, but that is one heck of a story! lol! Your card is great- love the Top Note, wonderful colors and that cute-cute tag! TFS Martha? Really? Lol!

Those tie-fish are the best ever. Even I would like them. (They remind me of my nephew being fascinated by the idea that DH had a tie with elephants that someone brought him from Thailand - I think they heard *tie-land*, so I thought Thai fish when I saw your tie fish). That little patchwork cat looks very smug about something - has he got the cream? And I love his rather fuzzy looking hat - looks like a tumble-dried beret - no offense intended. Or one of those Scottish bonnets...
