 | | This card is for today's Ways to Use it Christmas in July challenge(WT226)!!! Here is my less traditional yet whimsical Christmas in July card.
This card is also for CHF Summer Design Challenge.
I wanted to use paper piecing as a background look instead of the focal image. I stamped the row of trees from Kim Hughes Making the Grade set. I oulined each tree with the C1 copic marker to create the shadowed background effect and dimension. I softly sponge some brocade blue ink to add a cool effect and soften the look.
I wanted a whimsical look, so I opted for various patterns of retired SU pattern paper in real red and pretty in pink. Each cut out tree shape was outlined in copic 100 for a finished edge.
I created a sentiment present so to speak. I added some die cut layered ribbon bows for extra whimsey. I finished with a touch of a button!!!
