I needed a card for CHF's Summer Design Challenge #2, which was paper piecing. I have always thought Kim Hughes' Heart Warmers set was PERFECT for paper piecing, don't you think? So, since I was making one card and wanted each tree to be a different color I decided I might as well make 4 cards so I could use the other pieces up. Need ten cards for the CCC09 challenge for July anyway right? So, here are the 4 I came up with. Each one is different. The one I submitted for the challenge has the senitment stamped in red and then stitched by using my paper piercer to create holes and then stitching them with red embroidery floss. I know I can do better than this (picking a sentiment with letters that are bigger also would have helped) but I have a busy week and the challenge closes soon. All of the cards have ruby slippers Glitz Stickles added to the hearts for a little sparkle.
Thanks for looking at my cards!

So cute! Love the idea of leaving no scrap to waste. Your contest entry card is quite the beauty; I love the dp strips and the stitched sentiment looks great! I love the use of the pink dp, too, it gives it such a modern look!

These are so cute, Meredith!! You're right--those trees are perfect for piecing. Love the colors and the papers you chose. The sparkly hearts are a great touch, and your stitching turned out great!! What a super set of cards--great job

Absolutely fabulous Christmas cards. Love all the little variations on each card, and esp. love how you stamped the trees in different colours - looks awesome. This is going into my fav's. TFS!

As I said in my comment on the group shot I really love this card. I didn't realize you hand stitched the Noel - thought it was stamped - it's really pretty! TFS!
