You know, I've actually never tried paper piercing before, so today's CAS challenge gave me the perfect opportunity. I am glad I finally gave it a try! It was a lot easier than I thought it would be, I was so sure my hands weren't steady enough to cut smoothly without the affixed image looking choppy. You never know if you don't try right? ;#
The inside of the cupcake card will say "Hope your birthday is as sweet as you are". I wanted to add more glitz to the icing, but when I tried the glitter shades I had, there were too many green and blue inflections in them and itjust didn't look right. It doesn't show up well in the photo, but I colored around the grooves with a Copic Atyou glitter marker instead, in lemon, just enough to add a little glitz - OOH! I could have painted my Shimmerz over them! Darn! Next time... I tried to balance the dots in the cupcake bottom with the white brads and the white dots in the Swiss Dot ribbon in lemon tart from Papertrey, so yummy.
Hope you like my cards - here are the deets on them for you:
