I decided to use a new collage elements set today. IÂ’m not normally a collage stamper but I like a wide variety of styles and enjoy doing these once in while.
-The technique for the background is faux handmade paper which you can find directions for in the Try a new Technique challenge # 225.
I didnÂ’t have but white acrylic paint so I mixed some liquid ink in to add colors. It isnÂ’t as bright as the ink but I liked the results. I used Real Red, Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange. The lightest yellow was an accident; I got the bright idea to run it through the Cuttlebug with a scrap paper on top to flatten the tissue moreÂ…well the two papers stuck together and it took part of the cardstockÂ’s top layer off when I pulled them apartÂ…I donÂ’t give up easy and just added some more colorÂ…anything can be saved and I like it better this way!
-I masked off the square in the corner to add distress ink then lined up the mat pack and did some piercing.
-I sponged on distress ink to the green with a sea sponge and also added some color to the faux paper layer with a regular sponge.
-I did find the stamp positioner to be very useful for the collage creation.
-I used Diamond Glaze on the corner of the sentiment panels to help hold it to the acrylic paint.
-The card front is a scrap piece which I mounted on white cardstock as a base.
