This is my 2nd card for the Inspiration Challenge today featuring the website Lovely Packaging. Stef just blows me away with the cool inspiration sites that she shares with us!
I was inspired by two images which I combined. The first is here for the wire on the box: . The 2nd is here for the black bottle: .
I was all tickled with myself last weekend thinking that I had my dad's Father's Day card done early. Oops. I had made is birthday card, which is also in June!
So late, as usual, I set out to use the Rustic Rooster hostess set that I was able to get in a nick of time before it retired.
Dad raised chickens as a hobby when he lived in a rural area and he had a favorite rooster called Toppie. That rooster was meaner than junkyard dog, but he was a fine watchdog! Anyhoo, I ramble, but that's the rooster connection for his FD card.
I used En Francais in clear embossing powder on black and over that I embossed in silver with the chicken wire BG stamp from CHF. The rooster is colored in Prismacolors and Gamsol. The flourish is from Storybook (since it was already in the Cricut) and then I embossed it with the CB mesh folder and sponged it in Close to Cocoa. It kind of looked like the rooster's comb to me.
In retrospect, I should have made the flourish out of Ruby Red instead of Really Rust. Oh well. I'm calling it contrast. Do you think that will fly? ;-)
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful weekend!
EDIT: Okay, someone told me this card qualifies for Mothermark's tea party. I have long been eying the beautiful creations for MM's tea challenges, so if I can actually qualify to participate that thrills me to no end. Congrats to Cindy for quickly approaching your 1 year anniversary. How cool is that! Yahoo!
