I love this SU Totally Tools set, but I find it hard to work with. My son asked me to make a card with tools for his dad for father's day and I was sort of under the gun, so I sought inspiration from the SU site. I had already had the idea of making a tool belt or something, but I saw this card made by girlgeek101 and thought what a great idea to have tools hanging from like a pegboard. I changed up colors, embellishments, but kept the main idea. Here is her card if you'd like to see it:
I've been collecting masculine type papers and embellishments and some things from my husband's garage for when a masculine card comes up because they are so hard to do. I used this really neat weathered looking wood denim type paper for this card. Used brads for the nail holders and some wood buttons I had on hand. I used large brads for each corner. I also used some paper I had that had light wood and used that for the handles on the hammer and saw and used the denim paper for the handle on the screw driver. I stamped all the tools on gray to give the somewhat metal color. I'm not totally sold on how I did the tools, but didn't know what else to do with them to keep it in the color scheme also. I used the tape measure and light wood paper for the inside of the card. I used some black thread for the buttons and for a little something at the top of the card.
Think that's about it. I think Mother's Day was much more fun!!!!
Thanks for looking at my FD attempt and if you have a chance, let me know what you think.

This card is just so adorable and clever.. You've done a great job of photographing it too! You and geekgirl101 are wonderful card designers with a set that is kind of hard to put together!

You say you struggle with masculine cards, but in reality my friend, your 'guy' cards are great! It's only the lack of glitter, flowers, pearls and frou-frou embellies that causes you to pause and think something is missing. Love the peg-board idea - all that 'fussy' cutting would have had me going cross-eyed I think! This one's sure to be a hit!!!

Oh, Pam, this is spectacular!!! Can I just have you make my masculine cards? I really don't enjoy making them, but you definitely know how to make it happen. I cannot imagine cutting up these tiny tools, and I LOVE the pegboard! So clever!
