Today's LSC said we could only use plain card for the base, and we couldn't colour anything in. Yikes. My first thought was stamping and paper piecing, but I went out to do the shopping, and as I was walking home I remembered that I had not yet done Roxie's April Fool's Day sketch challenge... So I got a couple of Basic Grey pads out, and was going to do some of that embossed quilted effect that I've been seeing. Then I thought it was crazy to cut into new sheets when I have a big bag of scraps, so that's when the card went in a different direction. I picked out some scraps - mostly Basic Grey still, but all bitty pieces. Printed the sketch, used that as a template to cut the pieces, and then laid them out on some double-sided adhesive with small gaps. Brushed over it with gold EP and embossed to set the powder. Embellishments were to be limited, so all I added was some Primas and pearls, because you have to have something in the centre - and a punched leaf. I layered this onto some more Basic Grey, distressed and sponged the edges and wrote a sentiment. The base layer is Indian Cotton. I think I like it - at any rate I really enjoyed making it.
