When making this card, I had three challenges in mind: today's WT220 Buttons, yesterday's sketch SC230, and Creative Inspirations Blog Challenge to make "A Male Card" ( cinspirations.blogspot.com ). I made a birthday card for a friend who wants to send it to her brother in law. She had only a few requests: 1) It had to be sewn 2) It had to be a football player 3) it had to have a picture of an Aardvark on it since this is her brother in laws favorite team.
I don't know about you, but I am not much of a football fan (although Football Ian is so cute) and I think aardvarks ARE BY FAR ONE OF THE UGLIEST CREATURES NEXT TO THE ANT EATER. Those two things made it a real challenge for me. I did put an aardvark on there and I have two posts to show you how I hid it on one of the cards. My daughter laughed at me but agreed that the aardvark was just to ugly to be displayed. So the sentiment at the bottom has two ovals. One with the aardvark that can closed and hidden under the sentiment. When I give it to my friend, of course, the aardvark will be showing but otherwise, Bye Bye Aardvark. Hope she likes it.

Wow! This is stellar! Love all of the stitching and layers. Ian looks fantastic too! (I am with you....aardvarks are not going to win any beauty pagents!)

Card is as cute as a button!! But I think the ugliest two critters are armadillo's and opossums. UGH!!

Oh Dawg, I had to read your post to see what team you were making this like. I live in GA so OF COURSE I thought it was a Georgia BullDog. You did however inspire me to get this image since my brother is such a dawg freak and would love a birthday card using this image. Thanks, now that means more overtime at work :(
awe Steve is sooo cute! Love the reds & blacks. My neph just graduated from hs and his school colors were red and black! Oh and his name is Stephen. LOL

hilarious - the aardvark is pretty ugly - although my kids like Arthur on PBS and he's an aardvark yet quite cute! Great job on the card - I want to buy this football image - super fun.
