Made for my good friend Jan who is also a card maker. I started making this card at a 'messy day' Jan and I attended. Jan kindly lent me her oval Nesties 'cos I thought the branch would look good in that shape and I don't have the ovals.
I didn't get very far with it on the messy day and had to finish it at home and I decided I would make it into Jan's 70th birthday card. The trouble is, she keeps asking me to show her the card where I used her Nestie ovals so I've had to fib and say I haven't finished it yet!
I'm going to tell her this card is vintage and distressed - just like Jan herself LOL!
I didn't have any DP suitable and as it's a 5 3/4" square a CB embossing folder would have been too small - so I resorted to a long neglected Sizzix Texturz plate. I embossed vanilla CS and then swiped celery ink over it and sponged on some Antique Linen distress ink. I think it looks like a trellis so I like how it turned out.
I also sponged Antique Linen distress ink on the image oval and then stamped the speckly stamp from Itty Bitty Backgrounds in celery ink. The flowers were stamped again, cut out and I've popped them up with 3d foam pads.
I added olive swirls, grosgrain, buttons and CB vintage photo corners. I used circle punches for the birthday sentiment - and I couldn't resist putting a big 70 somewhere on the card!
