I made this Stitchery for my DD's bedroom wall and comes as a kit from fellow Aussie, Libby Richardson. The kit contains the handbag button, pearl necklace and the bear outline printed on calico, but it is up to you what embroidery threads, colours and materials you use.
The bear's body is painted with acrylic paints mixed with textile medium, and the nose, eyes and mouth are satin-stitched. The remainder of the bear is outlined with straight stitch. Once done, the stitchery has top and bottom panels sewn on and is sandwiched together with pellon and backing material and quilted before finally sewing on the border-frame - the same way you would finish a quilt.
Hope you like it and thanks for peeking!

Now, this is much too cute. You DD is so fortunate you are making these wonderful treasures for her. Your stitching (satin and straight) is just so pretty. Love the cute hat with the sparkly ribbon. The painted body is done so well and this is a delightful keepsake.
