This scene reminds me of the time my brother drove down on the sand bar and decided to go a little further because the other car was closer to the waterÂ…little did he know the other car was stuck there. So we spent the night in the car and walked to town the next morning to find a tow truck!
-The car was stamped and masked off to stamp the lighthouse image.
-Place the oval mask over the scene.
-Torn paper was used for a mask to sponge in the sand, change the mask and sponge on the water then put a sticky note punched circle for the sun and mask again to add the sunset sky. The car was the only image cut out for a mask and it was a precut mask which I store with the image as is the oval cut from the largest of the large Nestabilites set.
-After removing the circle mask sponge on a little color.
-Prismacolor pencils were used to color the image and also to add a little touch up wear the mask left some white areas.
The scene took about a half hour to create; it really helps to store the mask for future use.
-I used the scoring technique on the white edge.
-Tip: when I sponge with classic inks I set the pad near the image panel and press into the ink pad and then the cardstock in a very rapid back and forth motion and it goes much faster. To avoid the ink pad from flying across the work surface I place it on a foam shelf liner which you can find at most dollar stores. This also works great when you ink up a brayer. How did I learn thisÂ…it flew across the table once and landed on the light carpet face up! Good thing it was a light colored ink.
