Now here is the story behind my card. This really was an all white butterfly. She was so excited about coming to Cindy's teaparty. Most butterflies are colorful so for a majority of the time she sticks out in a crowd and never is wearing the in thing. Today though, she was going to be in fashion because wearing all white was the -IN COLOR!
She hadn't been at the teaparty very long when Carla spilled a piece of blue berry pie on her. She was in the bathroom trying to get the blue out, but it wouldn't come out. When she came out of the bathroom, she bumped into Sabrina and grape juice turned her purple. Kelly then spilled orange juice on her. Cathy spilled lemon merenge pie on her. Kris spilled strawberry cheesecake on her. Marilynn spilled key lime pie on her. The result was being dressed in a rainbow.
She is really excited now because she will be the envy of all of the other butterflies.
She was one of my new Martha Stewart Butterflies that I got for my birthday present.
What do you think?

Obviously it was the spike in the orange juice that made me do it! I think I picked the wrong carton...I chose the one on the left which was OBVIOUSLY the one left over from that kegger thrown by Mothermark & the Photographer over the weekend! Sorry Madame Butterfly, I didn't mean it! But you sure do look pretty!

Okay, that's our challenge next week. Forget the teapot! Lets make cards with food! Look at the wonderful colors all that *stuff* got! Notice that I did not spill a single thing....I just sat back in the room watching this card evolve and knowing at the end, when it was finished, I would nab it and stuff it under the couch cushion. You know how those butterflies are always flitting off, never to return! Its truly beautiful...a great birthday present!

I just love your beautiful colourful butterfly, MariLynn. Looks like you had fun shopping.
Your story reminds me of a book I had when I was little. It's in tatters, but I still have it. It's about how the toucan was so depressed because he was just black and white and all the other animals in the jungle looked down on him. So he ran away to the city, and tried all sorts of jobs. With his big beak, the job he was best at was carrying things. One day he was trying to carry too many cans of paint (should have said, the book is called Two Can Toucan) and they spilled. He was upset about that, and ran away from the city back to the jungle, where all the animals didn't recognise him and thought he looked wonderful with his new colours.
The vibrant colours you dyed your butterfly are just wonderful. I disclaim any responsibility for the grape juice, though - I don't really like it, so it can't have been me

Cute story, MariLynn. I LOVE strawberry cheesecake, and I was upset when I spilled the last piece. But I am glad that there was such a pretty outcome with all the misshaps going on. We were quite the clumsy bunch this week!!

Your butterfly might be traumatized after all the spills but it is beautiful!
Reminds me of Erik Carle's art work in The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Love that book and love your butterfly.

Alot of running into people this one. I think I saw you in the corner sipping something pretty strong, but I won't say a word to anybody MariLynn, after all, it is your birthday. The back door is good when you are as colorful as she.
Pretty swirl and lovely butterfly, I am so happy you got spoiled on your birthday, you spoil us so much here. Hugs, sweetie.
