I thought I would have to sit this one out, no iron, no wax paper, no glossy paper, no embossings folders... well I am not one to just give up. I really liked the look, so I came up with my faux version. It looks kinda close to what others have been doing. I have some old fiskars texture plates. I put them under the cardstock and I used a white crayon to do a rubbing. I covered all of the cardstock and then I sponged color over it. Where the white crayon hadn't been able to get into the crevases, it took the color. This embossing plate made me think of the ocean. I loved her sand dollar, so I had to get my sand dollar out. It was stamped on handmade paper and chalked to give it a little color.
I distressed the edges and chalked the edges. The little girl was colored with prisma colored pencils and chalks.

Trust you to come up with a way round. Mind you, I considered using a Texture Plate rather than a folder - but I didn't have your other stumbling blocks of no iron (really??), glossy paper or waxed paper. I love your handmade paper sand dollars, you sent me one on a card.
