This card is for a teacher at work who is having to have very scary surgery this week. I wanted something bright and cheerful for her to enjoy, and you can't go wrong with Leanne Ellis stamps for bright & cheerful!
I colored Annie with copics, as well as the birdhouse, which I also stamped on another paper, cutout and popdotted. I stamped the flowers on yellow paper, cut out, and adhered using my xyron (the flower in her hair is popdotted). Ditto for the birds with red paper.
I had so much trouble figuring out a layout...but the addition of the circle of friendship greeting finally made it work! And I had one yellow SU flower brad for the middle! The circle & red scallops were cut with nestabilities, and I paper pierced the scallops (and it's all popdotted). The blue paper was embossed with cuttlebug argyle folder, and finally I stitched around the outside.
*side note: I took it in for work for our department to sign, and not one, but two! people asked me how I did "that stuff around the outside." Uh, do you mean the "sewing"? I did that with a "sewing machine."
Stamps: Leanne Ellis for Sugar Nellie, SU circle of friendship
Paper: SU dp, baja breeze, PTI yellow
Ink: Memento black, SU real red
Other: Nestabilities, cuttlebug, sewing machine, SU flower brad

What a beautiful card - and such a nice thing to do for your teacher friend - I'm sure it will be so very appreciated! BTW-Where did you get that thing ... what was it called? A sewing machine? Too funny!!

so cute! I wish I was that teacher! Great stamps and great use of them with the color and layout. Love that paper behind, must be a texture plate (I obviously didn't read it yet...). FABO!
