Hi! This card was made for todayÂ’s Limited Supply Challenge: use the colors of a room in your house with limited layers and embellishments. It also works for todayÂ’s StampinÂ’ BÂ’s Challenge: Sandhill Cranes.
This past weekend, while on our way to visit Clownmom in Mt. Dora, FL, Mark, Markie and I saw a pair of Sandhill Cranes on the side of the road near a retention pond. The animals were BEAUTIFUL as well as HUGE! They were bigger than Markie. IÂ’m totally serious! I kept thinking, I love the colors of these birds.
I went home and noticed that my LIVING ROOM is the colors of Sandhill Cranes, plus WHITE! (Deep Red, Lighter Red, brown/gray, Dark Gray.) Totally made sense that I loved the big birds!
I used 2 Sizzix die cuts that were cut out of mat board and sent to me by NANCYRUTH. They started out white. I wanted to use the die cut in a “different” way, so I made a sunset scene. I used a ½” circle punch out as a mask for the sun, and used my Copic Airbrush to color the bird. (Top to bottom of bird: R29, R27, W5, C5.) The vine and birds were stamped in Noir Black Palette Hybrid Ink. There are 3 layers of card stock plus the sentiment treatment and the die cuts.

Wow that is gorgeous! I have never seen Sand Hill cranes those colors, we only have white or grey ones. I love your card so they must be really beautiful. TFS

What a beautiful bird, Faith. Love the flourishes behind it, too. Beautiful color combo for your living room. Thanks for sharing the crane story. I have some in the field behind my house.

This is a neat card.! My town is known for its Sandhill Crane migration every spring. We have around 500,000 that go through every year. It is so much fun to see them and it's so close to my house!
