The "kit" was around $6 plus shipping. It came with 50 "rounds." The processing per plate is $3.95 plus shipping. It worked out to be less than $5 for each plate.
I passed out rounds to my friends and customers and we all combined an order to save on shipping. I didn't charge anything extra for them, just my cost. I try to do nice things like that for my customers sometimes.
They can definitely be a fun class - the customers would just have to know that the plates wouldn't be returned for at least 2 weeks. They're great for cookie plates - for ANY holiday or season.
Makit has a lot of projects - plates, bowls, hotplates, trays, mugs, etc.
I am in the process of working on tumblers - they're not kind that you slip paper into - you stamp a paper and actually mail it back to them (like the plates). When your paper comes back it's inside of a tumbler that is fused together. The paper can't be removed and will never get wet! (You can also do mugs using that process). The tumbler "processing" is only $2.95. Cheap!!!
