Hi! This card was made for today's Sketch Challenge.
I don't like bugs. I have a bug service that comes ONCE A MONTH to make sure there are no bugs. Why? Well...I was born in Pennsylvania. I lived all over the northeast until 12/03/83. That day, is a day that will live in my terrified mind forever....That was the day I moved to Florida. I was very excited, jumped out of the car, ran into the house and saw a GIANT Palmetto Bug,(ENORMOUS ROACH), on the WALL of the living room. I screamed like I had spilled StazOn re-inker on my new white carpet! My dad ran into the house and that's when we found out the things FLY!!! And, it landed on DAD!!! He was screaming even louder than me!!! LOL!
So, when I saw this stamp set, I had to get it! I LOVE to tease my Dad with BUGS! LOL! I find plastic and rubber ones and put them in his MAILBOX! LOL! The image was stamped in Noir Black Palette Hybrid ink and colored with Copic markers. I punche out the branches and cut the leaves from a Sizzix die. The leaves were colored with a Copic Airbrush. I used the airbrush on the background, too!

Oh honey, my DH can soooooooo relate. That's the one thing he remembers, as a child, when his dad was stationed in FL. LOL He put a plastic one in our place in FL (in March) and I told him to put it in the trash. I NEVER wanted to see it again.
GReat job on the card. Love the bug and the air brushing. :)

What a great card and a funny story. I grew up in the South -- N.C. to be exact, and I remember as a child I had some high top shoes -- don't know where I got them -- but I loved them. One morning I put my foot in and there was a cockroach inside and I have been soooo afraid of bugs ever since - can't stand them and Florida is bug capital of the world I think. oops - love you Florida but hate them there buggies.

Sweet little guy
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~Leo Buscaglia
