Do you know how hard it is to travel from Iowa to Colorado with cupcakes stacked on top of eachother? I had to drive extra slowly so they wouldn't topple. That is why I am running late to the teaparty today.
Here is your invite to the teaparty: http://mothermark.blogspot.com/searc...uesday%20Cards
Today is a special teaparty because it is Sabrina's birthday. She came all the way from Ireland for the teaparty. I wanted to have the best cupcakes for her.
My only stamping on this card was the little cupcakes. They are itty bitty. They are 1/2" cupcakes. I paper pieced them. Then to make the frosting shiny, I experimented with fingernail polish. It might be hard to see in the photo, but they are as shiny as glass. I have a 1/8" circle punch. That is what I used to make my cherries. I have a drop of glue over the top of the cherries to make them shiny and gave them dimension. I drew my teacup and cake. My cake stand is a scalloped punch. To make the pedestal, I used my 1" circle punch. I punched twice opposite of eachother. The base was a 1"circle cut in half. I used the top of a marker to make the dots on the blue strip. I doodled around the edges. What do you think?

These are so cute. What a wonderful idea to use nail polish! Your cake stand is so creative too. I need to get to the tea party more often. It's been way too long since I joined you all.

Oh...Hi Officer! Have I been what? Oh, no I have not! Its just that....you see....I have to get to this teaparty with this pile of cupcakes and everytime I hit the gas, turn the corner or slam on the breaks, I sorta well....have issues! I know its dangerous to drive slow....but its more dangerous to show up with 6 cupcakes that are smooshed into one! Cindy said 6, it has to be six! Oh thank you! I would love a police escort! You have heard of Cindy's teaparties??? We have never had policemen at our teaparties and some tea parties we could have used one! Snort!
You are so creative...who'd a thunk nail polish!!! Who'd a thunk Ms. McGiver! And we know you can draw, you are just showing us more evidence! I love your card, its the teapot to perfection!
I love that you came again and how nice of you to bring your friend in uniform! Maybe some of the other girls will share their cupcakes with him. He's not getting any of mine! Snort!

Oh MariLynn, nail polish? How clever of you. I love your cupcakes. I see doodles on your edges here, very cool. Glad you made it safely to the teaparty. Those Colorado CHP might have confiscated those cupcakes had they pulled you over! I here they like cupcakes. Wonderful card my friend. TFS :0)

Okay, creating cupcakes that small is one thing, but balancing them all the way to the party, well you should win some kind of award for that. That and the innovative way you polished them up!!!! This is such a great tea party card.
