I wanted to do something dramatic so thought I'd try a remake of something I did 2.5 years ago! This card got a lot of attention back in the day but I never really did the technique much after that... until today.
The large butterfly shape is from the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die for the Big Shot. I cut it out of typing paper then used as a mask and reverse mask (keep both pieces) to do some shading and background stamping. Inside the butterfly I used Sahara Sand & Night of Navy ink as well as the grass from Inspired by Nature.
Outside the butterfly I used Linen & French Script backgrounds in Sahara Sand, and stamped the flowers and sentiment in Night of Navy craft, then embossed.
The edges are sponged and distressed. The wide navy organdy ribbon is layed over the strips of sahara sand paper behind the main image, and the horizontal slot punch was used to thread the ribbon through the main panel so it could be tied in a bow. Man I miss that sheer organdy ribbon by SU!
Anyway, thanks for a great challenge and for looking too!
