Okay...Retro technique is super easy and way fun. Take three colors from the same color group (e.g. here blues) one light, one medium and one dark. Take a piece of glossy white CS and use post it notes to cover up areas at random. It looks better if you keep the them straight. Take your darkest color and brayer over the entire CS. Next take some of your post it notes of and brayer over with your medium color. Then take the rest of the notes of and brayer again with your lightest color. Done. You have a cool background. Stamp however you like.

I am going to try this. I love bordering blue and not quite navy. Anything that looks "antique-y" those colors long w/ old olive are what I did all those petal print cards in. �
