When setting out to make this card for the Flourishes Challenge I couldn't go past the colours for this weeks Colour Challenge....they are so pretty.
This week with Flourishes we are to use embossing, at first I thought it was heat embossing and had a little ' panic attack' as I don't have any embossing powder...but when I got a grip on myself I realised that it could be...the good old Cuttlebug - phew!!
I used this old Stampin' Up set that I borrowed from my friend Ann (thanks Ann!) and coloured it with chalks and did an extra wing, 3Ding it on top of the first one...I only used thin foam tape as I didn't want it looking like it was about to take off the page. I distressed the edges of the image and layered it on green....which was in turn layered on embossed CS which I had run white ink over, to highlight the swirls....I also ran a length of lace and sheer ribbon over the embossing...then added a pink brad to each corner.
I have never thought of myself as a pastels person, but I have to say that this colour combo is enough to convert me - thank Jodi, it really goes with the 'shabby' look of this card.
Thanks for looking, I am always keen to hear what you think!
